A Teenage Life: Chantelle's Story
Chapter 2

My mother wakes me up the next morning. I shuffle down  the stairs to find Damon and Dylan eating breakfast.

"Morning sis." Dylan says with a mouth full of bacon.

"Morning Chant." Damon says.

I say morning to both of them then take my seat next to

When he finishes his breakfast, he jumps up and says, "Better get going now. Dad will be wondering where I am." He quickly chucks one more slice of bacon into his mouth. "See you at school."

I wave as he flies out the door.

My mother comes to take his plate. "SUch a nice boy." She adds as she flutters away.

I snort. She doesn't know the real him. She only knows who he is when he's around her. Since my family's wealthy they have very high expectations. When I first met him back in fifth grade, my mom wasn't at all pleased. So I told him he had to act 'proper'. He didn't mind. That day he shook my mother's hand, pulled her chair out when we had lunch and offered to make her coffee. He was the perfect Gentleman. He even wore a tux! I wore a deep purple dress. After lunch we took a stroll to the park around the corner from our house where Damon admitted that he enjoyed acting like a poshperson. I told him he didn't have to change just to impress my mom. He smiled and said, "It's ok, I just really want to be your friend." That's when I really felt like I had a friend. That night I told Dylan what he said and he told me that Damon only wanted to be my friend because of our money. I refused to believe him and slammed my bedroom door in my brother's face. I never told my brother anything ever again.

"Come on  then," Dylan says. "I'll drive you to school."

I nodd and run upstairs. I pull on my school uniform, a navy blue skirt and a white shirt. It can be any type of navy blue skirt and white shirt as long as it's a navy blue skirt and white shirt. And as long as it's appropriate.I don't bother putting my stockings on since it's hot. The rain definatly cleared up from last night. I have to wear my blazer though. It's compulsory. I pull my hair into a messy pony and put my glasses on. I run down the stairs and my brother's waiting for me. He's wearing his white shirt and black pants.

He's carrying his blazer in his hand too. I jump into Dylan's red Honda Civic and he starts the car.

Once there I'm immediatly met with my best friend, Leeanne's smiley face.I giggle and grab her arm. I pull her to the 10th graders quad. "So what did you do this weekend?" She asks as she dumps her bag on the grass. Her body is skinny and scrawny but she's very active. Her eyes are crystal blue and she's got showers of freckles across her face but she calls them sun kisses. She's got dark reddish-brown layered hair that compliments her face perfectly and she used to have braces.

"Watched movies with Damon. We watch a really funny one last night and he made up this really funny btitish accent. Do you wanna hear it?"

Before Leeanne could answer, we spot Sarah, our other good friend. Her ash brown eyes widen in excitement as she sees us. Sarah used to wear braces too but both her and Leeanne got there's taken off a couple of months back. Her hair's a dark blonde and she dip dyed it blue. The school had a big problem with it but after much persuasion they agreed. Today it was in a plait.

"Sarah, you're here!" We yell as we run towards her. I grab Sarah's left arm while Leeanne grabs her right.

"I was just telling Leeanne about my hilarious british accent." I clear my throat then make my voice really high. "I hate you! Look at you, with that ridiculous hat, you look like a bloody bafoon! You think you can come in here and act like an upperclass wanker. You knob! You talking bollocks as usual. I think you're going completly mental."

Sarah and Leeanne both burst out laughing. I look up at my friends. I'm the shortest of the pack. Leeanne's tallest and Sarah's middle-sized. The shrilling ring of the bell interupts our laughter and we start walking to our classroom. Along the way, Damon jumps in front of me. He's a year older than me so we're not in the same classes. Mornings are the only time we get to see each other on school days.

"Hey." He says as he hugs me.

"Want to walk to class together?" He whispers in my ear.

I pull away. "You're class is on the opposite side of the school." He laughs. "Your point?" He's begging me to say yes. "Fine!" I sigh. He grins, triumphantly. He takes my hand and we start to walk, swinging our hands.

"Why aren't you with Micky?" I ask, refering to his short, strawberry blonde haired girlfriend.

He shrugs. "Because I'm with you." He says. I look away to hide my blush.

"What time are you going home after school?" He asks.

"Five." I groan.

"Haha, I'm going at three. Want a lift?" Damon asks.

I shake my head. "I forgot my keys at home so I can't get in."

"What about you're brother?"

"Football." I sigh. Damon nodds. We get to my class and Damon says bye. Since Damon and I were strolling, I'm late. Mrs Bling gives me a stern look but doesn't say anything. I take my seat behind Sarah and Leeanne.

They turn to face me. "Thanks for ditching us for Damon." Sarah jokes. I smile.

Leeanne leans in. "So what were you guys talking about?"

"His girlfriend." I answer.

Leeanne rolls her eyes. "You guys should seriously get together."

I roll my eyes, mimicking her. "We're just friends, Leeanne!"

She laughs and holds her arms up. "Hey, I'm just saying." She gives me a mischevious smile then turns back to face the front.
